Motorola i830 review from United States of America

Nothing has gone wrong with the phone that hasn't been of my own doing, other than the screen scratching very easily.

Since it is a flip phone one is inclined to "thumb" it open. In doing that your finger nail, as small as it may be, scratches the screen and eventually the screen develops a semi circle scratch in the middle of it. It is only visible at certain angle, but is none the less annoying.

The small OEM battery loses its power after a while and the battery dies faster and faster it seems.

I would highly recommend the Nextel Service Plan (NSP) They will replace the above mentioned problems, and many more free of charge.

The phone is very small, I've owned many phones and this is the smallest one by far. If you have big hands it may take a little getting used to in order operate the phone without any annoyances.

This is the same phone as the i730 circuitry wise, just in smaller package, the screen is even the same size. If you like the i730 and want something smaller, the i830 is a good move.

The Internet on the phones is way behind that of say Sprint PCS and Verizon networks, but it provides the information needed.

Ringtones are a plenty with a USB cable, that is the recomended way to download software to your phone as they are available free of charge on the Internet from many sites. Cables can be purchased from stores for $15-$20 and from eBay for a fraction of that, for cables that don't have bundled software, WebJal can be downloaded from different sites on the web.
