Sony Ericsson K700i review from United Kingdom
"If you could take silent photos, it would be better"
What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?
Battery life is SO short. Think of 1-2 days if you like to use the camera or games.
The joystick stops working if you use the phone for games. Vodafone have had my phone back 4 times, and said it was a design fault where lots of use causes dust to get behind the joystick, and stops it working. They suggested I buy a can of air for blasting any dust out in future.
The phone can lock up from time to time.
General comments?
You get a big KER-KCHUNK sound when you take a photo, which is really off-putting. My cats won't let me photograph them any more as they hate it.
The battery life is too short and the reception is poor. I have to carry a Nokia 6810 for work, and I always check it, and find it has reception when the K700i doesn't.
Video quality is poor. I was really looking forward to getting this phone, but it was a disappointment, and not a huge leap over the Sagem myX-6 it replaced.
Bluetooth works OK. An annoying thing, is that you could put the phone to handsfree with one button press on myX-6 while on a call; on the Sony, you have to fiddle around with the joystick and go through menus to do it.
Memory at 52mb is great.
You can upload java games to it simply by sending them via infra-red from a laptop computer; cool!
If you try to record your own ringtones, they come out too quiet.
