Sony Ericsson W800i review from Norway
"Fantastic phone!"
What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?
The USB connector cable has malfunctioned a couple of times.
Apart from that, nothing.
General comments?
Excellent phone, I daresay the best one I have ever bought. I looked around for a long time before buying, and found that I wanted a K750i, but as the local stores didn't have those because of some issue with the camera, I had to wait. And so the W800i was scheduled to come out very soon, and so I decided to go with that instead (a decision based on the pretty unique looks alone).
The phone has never crashed on me, it's always on, and the battery life is really very good. However, when the phone is in use, it does swallow power pretty easily. But as my phone is rarely used very actively and it's fast to recharge, I have no problem with it.
I've heard that the joysticks on these phones break quite easily, but in 1.5 years of use, mine hasn't shown any kind of weakness. The phone has dropped out of my pockets a few times, so it's a bit scuffed here and there, but nothing major. The only problem I have with the build quality is the fact that the plastics can feel a bit cheap, and they can squeak a bit.
The camera isn't the greatest out there, but it definitely does the trick. The flash is a bit weak, as can be expected of a phone camera, as is the optic zoom.
As for the mp3-playing capabilities of the phone I have to say, they're not the greatest, but then again, I use a dedicated mp3 player to play my music.
Overall, a fantastic phone, I'd recommend it to anyone.
