Ericsson T18s review from United Kingdom
"Simple, strong masterpiece!"
What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?
The battery is unreliable, but this is expected from a phone that's the best part of a decade old!
General comments?
There's something about owning a "brick" from the 90's that's so much more satisfying than just a bland modern phone. It's nostalgic, retro, rare... excellent!
The Ericsson T18s is from 1999. That means there's no camera, games, video or internet... However, at the time this was one of the best phones out there.
Nowerdays, it's a very distinct phone so seeing people's faces when you get it out alone is worth buying the phone for! If you want a retro phone, or just want to have your first phone again, my advice is just do it! OK, the phone is aged, but who cares? It looks so much better than modern phones, It gets better signal because it has an aerial, it's great fun to use, and so easy and simple!
This phone isn't for everyone, so if you like modern gizmo's and gadgets, look elsewhere. This is a fantastic phone, but it has its flaws. The older batteries last several hours at best; I always carry two.
The flip is great for locking the keypad. It looks flimsy, but trust me, Ericsson build their phones to last! This phone is near indestructible.
If you want one, go on eBay, they usually cost around £20 for a good one...
A great retro masterpiece!
