Motorola RAZR V3 review from United States of America

"I will never buy another Motorola phone again thanks to my three troublesome Razrs"

What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?

I got my first Razr in January 2007. That month it started to "freeze", as I called it. The phone would appear to be fine, with signal strength, the screen on, and everything. But, it wouldn't allow me to call anyone or anyone to call me. Since I am usually the one called instead of the caller, I'd go up to two days with my phone totally not working and not even know it.

Then the phone began to warn me to "INSERT SIM", when the SIM card was already safely in there and I hadn't altered it or dropped the phone at all. I'd have to turn it off and back on to correct the issue and use the phone again.

Then the phone vibrated once continuously until I turned it off. That was thankfully a one time thing.

It dropped many calls, or often mysteriously said "Call Failed" with full signal strength.

I returned it, and got a warranty replacement Razr of the same model/color. It was fine for 3 days. Then the buttons mysteriously flickered and went out. They would only light back up if you tapped the side of the phone or pressed the pound key hard. As soon as you quite tapping or let off the pound key, they'd go off again. Then that phone did the "INSERT SIM" message as well. So it got returned.

I am now on my THIRD Razr, and it's an AT&T version. This Razr also says "INSERT SIM" randomly, and it drops calls. It also shuts itself off, often during the middle of a text message or a call.

General comments?

The phone overall is easy to use as far as button placement and menus go.

The Bluetooth is the main reason I got the phone, because I wanted free ringtones from my friends.

The camera is a nice feature, but its picture quality is terrible, even for a phone. It will often show the picture clear and crisp as an icon in the picture list, but once you open the picture to view it it's nothing but a blur.

The battery life is nothing compared to my old Nokia. It would last for up to a week, but the Razr has to be charged every two days, whether I use it or not.

If it wasn't for the Razr's Bluetooth capability and camera, I'd already have my old Nokia out of the spare drawer and in use again.
