Kyocera Strobe review from United States of America
"You will end up wanting a different phone after about two months"
What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?
Keyocera Strobe - All-tell, Metro PCS, U.S. Cellular.
The software is kinda glitchy, sometimes the screen took a few seconds to come on when the phone was opened and would power cycle frequently (turn off and on by itself).
Charging the phone took 4+ hours for around two hours talk time. The outside screen was a very low quality LCD, but the inside was pretty decent, but both were very small. Never used the blue-tooth feature to comment on it.
Security flaw: when the phone is in locked mode, security can be bypassed through the shortcut key, and whatever is in the shortcut menu can be accessed even though phone is supposed to be locked.
The qwerty was a nice keypad and fun to text with, but was almost impossible to do with one hand, and the outside keypad was also difficult to use too, due to the awkward positioning of the buttons.
The phone itself could have a lot of potential, but lack of software and features, made the phone boring and inferior to todays mobile phone standards. A media player of some kind would have been a nice touch for this kind of phone.
General comments?
Would not recommend for someone who is looking for a multi-media phone; good for someone who likes to text on a qwerty keypad.
VGA camera and flash that can be used as a flashlight was cool.
Mobile browser OK, but slow.
Pretty much as basic as you can get as far as features can go.
