Sony Ericsson Z550i review from Australia

"Affordable phone with good features"

What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?

It stopped making sounds for about 3 days a few months ago, but hasn't done it since.

Battery life is starting to get short, and the charger sometimes doesn't connect up to the phone properly.

General comments?

This phone has the bare essentials such as;

Colour screen

MP3 ringtones

Bluetooth

Good predictive text

Reasonably easy to navigate

Camera of at least 1MP

Light & compact

And it's one of SonyEricsson's cheapest models too.

The only things that jar with me are;

There's no open button for the phone, meaning you have to usually use both hands to open it.

Answer and hang up buttons double up with function buttons. Not that it's ever been an issue, as open and close answer and hang up the phone anyway.

If reception drops below 4 bars, the call drops out and there are 5 bars. All my other phones have worked on 3 bars and will send text messages on less (albeit slowly). This refuses to do anything below 4.

The hole for the voice to come out of is small, and it's sometimes hard to position it over your ear properly.

Some of the functions are buried deep in the menus.

I keep my phones for at least 2 years and I'm certain this one'll last the distance.
