Nokia N95 review from United Kingdom
"Very disappointing"
What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?
When you receive a message and want to read it, pressing the 'messaging' button doesn't take you to the message. Instead the display changes slightly (operator logo disappears for example) but you do not get taken to the message. The rest of phone menu/options is also unusable; the only way to clear it is to turn it off and back on again.
I have downloaded latest ROM (Dec 2007), but still have the same fault.
General comments?
Menus are slow and annoying, takes quite some time (20 seconds if faffing around) to get the camera active to take a shot. Don't bank on being able to take a picture of anything in a hurry.
Battery usage just about one day, and with heavier call use will not last this long. Must charge overnight every night in order to have any decent amount of battery life to start the following day with.
Overall, I can't help feeling that this first generation phone-like-a-computer (as per the nokia adverts) is not up to the job.
No 'ring ring' tone supplied by Nokia with the phone! I never bother with other musical ringtones, so this is annoying.
OK, so it's got a 5MP camera, who cares? I can source a great Canon Ixus camera for way less than the retail price of this phone, and still have money left over for decent phone which works better as a phone. Like my old 6230i even.
