Nokia 6110 Navigator review from South Africa

Some minor software glitches. Granted the problems are with third party software. I am interested to see what will happen with software updates.

I have been amazed at all the features that the phone has.

Nokia has managed to smooth the S60 platform to make it much easier and more intuitive.

Out the box I have hardly had to customise anything with the phone, as everything is where I expected it to be (in terms of software applications).

I am interested to see how the slide is going to hold up to daily use. It doesn't inspire much confidence in me. Samsung still seem to be the slide phone kings.

The Navigation and GPS features are amazing and work well. I recently used the Navigation features on a 5000km road trip and 90% of the time the directions were spot on. The mapping software however can be updated and expanded for the rural areas of South Africa. I have sent a report to Navteq and Route66 - I am interested to see when they will release updates and if they took some of my points into account.

I downloaded Google Maps for the phone. Together with the GPS it is amazing.

The camera is passable. Admittedly I never bought the phone for its camera. The panorama feature is great. Videocalling is not supported in South Africa, so the front camera is redundant as it cannot be used much for anything else.
