Sony Ericsson K700i review from Namibia

"Solid, feature-full phone"

What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?

I can't say much has gone wrong with the phone. There's a tiny scratch on the screen, but that was caused by putting the phone in my trouser pocket with my car keys and coins.

General comments?

This is solidly built phone; most of the body is metal. The screen is bright and clear. The keypad is well lit. It has got more than enough memory for my needs.

I use it as a remote control for my PowerBook. I can use it to control my desktop and presentations.

I've not been able to try the Internet connectivity, but that's because of the service provider being rather poor in service delivery.

General complaints: the games available are all rather silly.

I was warned from the outset not to update the software on the phone, although this is one of the features of the phone. This apparently is what leads to the phone not working properly. I would have liked to download a couple of applications from the SE website without losing any functionality.

The Bluetooth capability drains the battery faster. I therefore have to be careful to turn it off after use. On the bright side, I mostly turn on Bluetooth to synchronise contact information with my PowerBook and the phone's Bluetooth is automatically turned off after the sync is complete.

I would like to replace this phone with a Sony Ericsson K750, or P910i if I can afford it.
