RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100 review from United States of America
"NOT a good fit for me.."
What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?
No problems yet -- as far as things going wrong.
General comments?
The salesman said I would love this phone after a week and half -- he was wrong. I've had it for almost two weeks, and is not a good fit for me.
The buttons are WAY too small. I have medium-sized hands for a guy, and the buttons are horrible for texting. They're even worse for dialing phone numbers.
The sound quality is horrible. Turn it up to hear calls and the sound gets distorted. Turn it down a little and you can't hear what people are saying.
I think it is too small for a BlackBerry. I would rather it be the size of my PalmOne PDA if it's going to have the same features.
Also, with my company you cannot cancel the data plan! How crazy! I asked the sales representative if I could cancel it after a while and he just said, "a BlackBerry without the data plan is like a car without wheels." I didn't know he meant you couldn't cancel it at all.
Don't get my wrong -- this phone does not fit my personal needs. I am a teacher, and I don't e-mail often. I can't use my phone at work anyway. This is just too much phone for my needs.
I'm exchanging it for the new LG Vu.
