The phone automatically switched itself on and immediately off again, fault with the power button, the phone had to be returned to the manufacturer to be fixed, manufacturer wiped the phone.
Screen randomly switches off.
I have also noticed the signal out is inordinately strong (not the reception), and interferes with electrical equipment from across the room, even when not in use.
This phone is trouble, apparently power failure is a common problem. When I returned to the shop to get it fixed, there was another customer who had also barely had the phone a month, returning the phone for the same reason.
The manufacturer advised me to back up the data on the phone, but I obviously couldn't as I couldn't get the phone to stay on long enough! This meant all the games etc. I had purchased at £5 each were lost too.
Since it has been returned, it randomly powers off the screen, not useful.
I have a U8120, 1 month after purchase the menu 'randomized' itself.. if you knew the shortcut number sequence, everything was fine, but none of the labels matched the actual settings.
Had internals of phone replaced.. Random re-setting started.. Had software upgraded. Still randomly re-sets, and now the SMS messages in my inbox double each day. (e.g. if they are in there 1 day, I get 2 messages, 2 days 4 copies etc.) but after the phone is turned off and back on they go back to normal.
Then the phone died. It would turn on to the 'power up' screen, and just hang there.. couldn't even re-charge the battery because it would still just hang there. Another software upgrade.. Still resets, and messages keep doubling.
All this has been within 6 months of purchasing the phone from a 3 store in Sydney, Australia.
A mate of mine bought his phone a day before I did from the same shop, although his messages aren't doubling (yet) his phone 'died' 2 days before mine did.
Battery life however seems OK, not good, but OK at about 4 days for me.
This is the first LG phone I have owned, and will probably be the last. My girlfriend is using my old Nokia 3310, cost me $160.00 new, not a problem, LG U8120 cost $550 and has been nothing, but trouble..
