Well where can I start? Basically the phone has been great while I have had it, but little silly things have annoyed me.
1) Every now and then, the phone display fades away and decides to restart itself. Pretty annoying if you ask me!
2) The screen is terrible to read. I am a plumber and take the phone to work, but it has become seriously scratched. As a result I cannot read any text messages. Had to buy new cover at £20.
3) The battery is ridiculous. I do send a lot of text messages, but you are lucky if the battery lasts you a day when using it. My old 3310 was better than that. So much for phones becoming better.
4) Once you replace the cover on your screen, dirt gets in behind the screen. Baffles me!
As I result of all these problems and Nokias strange styling, I have now decided to upgrade to a Samsung D500 as of next week (July 2005)
OK... the good parts (very few)
The phone is very good looking and very easy to use. Only problem is it's becoming increasing common.
The ringtones are OK for this kind of phone, but I have uploaded many Mp3 files to my 128mb SD card and now it's a lot better.
What else can I really say about it? Apart from you could drop it many times and it just keeps going.
I have the same phone and agree on a couple of your points, namely the battery life (very poor) and the random switching off. I find this usually happens if I'm scrolling through pics/videos, the phone 'freezes', and then either switches off or just stays 'frozen' until I switch it off/on etc. This doesn't happen too often, but it is quite annoying. However, I like the phone in all other respects. I have also dropped mine a few times, a few scratches/chips here and there, but the phone still works well :)
May upgrade to a 6230i as I think it has a better quality camera.
Hi, I´m very sorry to disappoint you, but I have had the same problems (fading, freeze...) with my 6230, and then one day it died; Vodafone changed the programming (0 cost) and until today everything runs just OK, it was a serial software problem.
Well, but I agree with the dirt under the cover, it's really incredible.
Now I have a Nokia 6680 and that is simply a great, great phone. The software is Symbian, which is fantastic to personalize and load hundreds of programs.
