The software freezes while saving telephone numbers to the phonebook in the SMS sub-menu, and the ringer/key pad tones stop working - resolved by turning the phone off.
The volume in the ear piece is not loud enough.
The voice quality/reception is very poor compared to my humble Nokia 3310!
The standard ringtones are boring and not polyphonic enough!! (like Nokias). Moreover, plugging the phone into the PC requires the installation of V3 software, which cannot be loaded at work because Windows 2000 requires administrator privileges to install the software!!
The fact that you can't load data interface software at work is the fault of your network admin, not the software or the phone.
As for polyphonic tones, once you have found a PC to load the software on, you can use any MP3 available to you, wav file etc, and edit it using the software, which makes polyphonics sound like a bad joke. Why have the poly/midi synth version of the latest music when you can have the real tune, at least 32kps which sounds just fine from the speaker. Or use comedy clips, cartoons, movie clips.
I installed mine on win2k at work, and winXP pro at home and they all work fine. Its especially useful for uploading camera pics to emails and composing SMS on the PC when at work. Sounds like you handset might be faulty anyway, if the keypad tones stop working.
I have had my phone since they first came out. I have heard others complain about the phone malfunctioning, but I love mine... it's so cute and slender, and I am very pleased!!
It is a bit harder to hear while I am in my car driving, but I just put it on speaker and it helps a lot... plus it's safer.
I also sometimes find the phone hard to hear as its not easy to line up the earpiece slot properly with your ear, and it's so slim you end up using a finger to position it on your ear. Once you do the volume is good, but for using it on the move, I find the bluetooth headset is far easier to hear without juggling the phone everytime you move your head. So I'd definitely recommend getting one with the phone, but if you don't have one the speaker phone is also plenty loud enough for in car use, and picks up your voice at a good distance too, so is fine for handsfree operation.
I love this phone for its size and large screen. However I have had problems on many occasions with the phone turning itself off half way through writing a message. It started happening when it was just a few weeks old and I still have no idea why. Other than that it is fantastic.
Having only ever owned Nokia phones, I thought I would have trouble learning to navigate a new brand of phone, but this phone is very user friendly and easy to navigate.
Motorola should have stopped producing these after the black edition, but what they did is release blue and pink, and more recently the video v3x.
What can the standard V3 do apart from look good? Megapixel? No. MP3 player? No. Good memory? No. Battery? No.
The build quality is cheap. Nokia is a brand that knows how to make superb phones which will last a long time with high quality feutues.
I'm not sure if it is possible, but to put some songs on it as ringtones, can I plug it into my laptop through USB? Or will something go wrong with my phone from doing that?
One of the main things that people overlook is that there are 2 different kind of RAZRs, well at Verizon there are. There is the RAZR V3m, and the RAZR V3c. There is a big difference. While the V3m is cheaper, it does have better sound than the V3c, because in the V3c they had to save more space by putting in a more compact speaker, so they could put the VCAST video on it.
The only bad thing that I have seen about this phone, is that the sound sucks, and that it will tend to freeze up every now and then.
Please give me some info if you are having the same problems. Email me at cute_stud31027@yahoo.com
I own a V3x. I am facing intermittent missed calls and poor reception. Sometimes the phone has no sound and needs to switched off. Why? It's software bug? I need some advice.
