"A great phone that does all the basics well"

What things have gone wrong with the mobile phone?

Nothing.

General comments?

Intuitive menus, easy to access most features.

Easy to use USB data cable (can buy mini USB cable for $10) and can charge from any PC.

The data software is easy to use to make ringtones from MP3s, pics for wallpapers and screensavers, and manage the phonebook.

Battery life is excellent, at least 3 hours talktime or 6 days standby (even more if you don't use it for anything else eg camera).

Replacement batteries cost only $12 online if you want a spare.

Bluetooth is easy to use, either for PC connect or headsets.

Super slim and pocketable. The aluminium case is built like a laptop so you can pocket it if you don't want to use a case.

Nice loud speaker phone if you want to use in your car without a headset.

Drawbacks?

The camera lens is easy to cover with your forefinger while holding the phone to take pics.

The battery compartment is very secure and not easy to open quickly.

No terminals for a desktop drop in charger, must use the USB port to charge.

Would love to see a future version with a mini SD port and audio jack for full MP3 playback.

Phone still going strong, battery still has good performance after a year, signal performance still good.

Downsides?

The screen smears a lot from your face/fingers in hot weather or long calls, but cleans easily with a sunglass cloth and is still scratch free.

The camera is outperformed by newer phone models.

Newer RAZR versions have full MP3 support, maybe carriers could update handsets without requiring you to buy a new phone (wishful thinking I know...).

Lots of deals about to get RAZRs free now, so I can still recommend them as a phone, but if you want more multi device capable features, there are newer phones around.

My Motorola RAZR is almost one year old. Very good phone except for background "static." I am afraid to get Cingular to replace it because I do not know what I will get from them.

I love my Razer. I had it for almost a year and it is great. Nothing has gone wrong with it, but there are cooler phones.
