I previously had a Palm Treo 600 for about two years and decided to upgrade to a 650 because of the bluetooth feature. I went through two earpieces, the last being an earpiece specifically made for the 650, and I went through two phones. I could not get the wireless earpiece to work properly - static, low volume. Bell, my phone company indicated they could not help because they did not as yet have a support system in place for this phone. They could not help me either and could only suggest to send back the phone or earpiece for repair even though I told them we had already done that twice. I ended up returning everything to the dealer and selecting another phone.
It sounds like your issues may have been more with the wireless headsets than the Treo. I use a Plantronics 510 bluetooth headset with my Treo 650 and it works like a charm.
You should consider specifying that you got bluetooth problems; that is not enough reason to say it is a bad phone.
I had a 600 for one year and made an upgrade to the 650. It has been two years now and I'm still unable to find a better phone.
