Just one month after purchasing the phone, it already frequently freezes up, and the problem can only be resolved by removing the battery and then re-inserting it and switching it on.
The 64mb memory card that came with the phone is already corrupted, but it has never been out of the phone.
Before the phone started to go wrong, I was very satisfied with it. You would get approximately 4 hours talktime on it, and at least 4 days standby time, so it's not too bad.
Being able to store MP3s and set them as ringtones and alarm tones is also a bonus.
The camera is 1.3 megapixels and great quality images can be had.
The Nokia PC Suite software does not install if you are using Windows XP and have Service Pack 2.
Hi :)
It's a Symbian phone. The memory card of course does get corrupt - you constantly save and erase files (pictures!) from it, and it's formatted in FAT so it fragments, and if it's fragmented too much, the phone can't read it anymore - hence "corrupted".
Get an MMC reader for the PC, put it in there and run XP's "disk defragmenter" on it. Does an excellent job, and will work forever. I have to defragmnent mine once a week, but I use the camera excessively (and got a one-gigabyte memory card).
Do anyone have the same problem as me..?
I bought my N6630 at the end of July 2005 and this is the middle of Jan 2006. My phone is very very good... I'm proud to be an owner of an N6630. BUT... this happy story stopped for a while.
Last week I wanted to turn on my phone at my workplace after charging its battery... then something happened.. the phone did not show its normal start up picture (Nokia logo.. the 2 hand) but showed these words.. "START UP FAILED, PLEASE CONTACT RETAILER". So.... my phone has beem sent to the retailer for repair.. now one week has passed, but my phone has not been repaired yet.. Argh... I miss my phone
I have had the Nokia 6630 for 7 months now, when it came out there was not a choice of bigger memory card, however in recent months I upgraded to a 512 Kingston dv - rs mmc memory card. I have 60 songs with like 150 mb left. The phone has about 10mb of games and it is very strong phone, never a problem at all.
Lush phone, pic quality is amazing. Zoom is very good, video is OK, bluetooth is best.
The battery is very good, I listen to MP3 files for about 6 hours a day and make calls etc, which leads me to charge the phone every other day, not bad at all!!
The stereo speakers rip any Motorola/Sony speakers!!! Highly recommended, just think how good the 6680 or the N70 Nokia is!!!
Turn your phone off. Do a hard reboot by pressing by pressing 4 buttons at the same time for 2-3 minutes.
Green button (answering button)
Number 3
Star *
Power button.
By doing this, the problem should be resolved.
Note that this will wipe your contacts and other records from the phone.
That worked!!! Thanks a lot mate... I am happy now. I just pressed green/talk and 3 and *, and then I pressed the power button. It took 1 minute for the phone to reformat and it works fine... thanks a lot. Ali.
