If you drop it once, it's as good as dead.
I can't seem to get a signal anywhere, even though I live in a large city and my roommate (who has the same service provider as me, but has a NOKIA) gets perfect reception everywhere.
The battery doesn't last through one hour of talk time, and this is a battery that is less than 6 months old.
The screen, body, and outside display are scratched VERY easily.
I have to hold the antenna with my finger in order to hear anyone during a call.
I have to use the speakerphone to check my voicemail, and to talk to soft-spoken friends, because it is very hard to hear on this phone, even with the volume turned all the way up.
The little rubber piece where you can put a headphone plug tears off almost immediately, and leaves an ugly little black hole on the side of your phone.
This phone is a waste of money.
I have sent it back (under warranty) FOUR times and the new one is never any better than the last. I am going to have to just break down and buy a new one.
I've been using this phone for a while, and don't seem to having any problems like those described. As with anything, reasonable care is required if you want it to last. Oh, and the rubber plug does not cover a headphone jack, it is the USB port. I've opened and closed this rubber cover many times, and have had no trouble. It's all in how you use it.
I had this Motorola phone too. I did like the phone. It did look good and everything. But the one and only problem I had - I always had a problem with getting a signal! The signal would cut off countless times! I never never had this problem with every other phone I have! I've decided I can't use this phone anymore. It keeps losing its signal. And it's annoying! This V220 was NOT a reliable phone for me. I decided to rid the phone. I sold it on ebay. I'm happy now!
The July 17, 2006 comment. THAT'S the exact same problem I had with my V220. I also did the exact same remedy too, sold it on ebay!!!
I did have the same very annoying problem too. It kept losing the signal. It's all it did. It was here too, I decided that this V220 is NOT dependable!
